Our Story

It All Started With A Pool Valve In 1991

Pleva Mechanical Inc., owned by Mark Pleva, was approached to develop a surge tank main drain “YMCA” valve alternative. With the motto, “There’s got to be a better way to do this,” Mark Pleva set out with his father in search of an improved solution for the troublesome modulating float valve. With his father’s expertise as a retired mechanical engineer and Mark’s experience as a mechanical contractor, they were able to invent the Sentry Pool Valve.

Where We Are Today

More Than Just A Valve Company

With over 100 pools constructed and hundreds of Sentry Pool Valves installed, Mark remains dedicated to excellence. In 2003, Mark introduced the Sentry Pool Heater. Today, Mark has installed over 75 Sentry Pool Heaters across the Midwest. With nearly 15 years of product development and fine-tuning, Mark felt that he had a finished version worth sharing with others around the country and even overseas.
